문화재청 국립문화재연구소(소장 지병목)는 2월 25일 카자흐스탄공화국 국립박물관(관장 A. 무하메디울리)에 지난 5년간의 공동연구 성과를 우리말과 러시아어로 출간한 『카타르토베 -제티수 사카 엘리트 고분군』을 전달하고, 2016년 체결한 학술교류 협력 관계를 연장하는 협약을 체결하기로 하였다.
국립문화재연구소는 유라시아 고대 문화의 교류 양상을 연구하기 위해 2016년에 카자흐스탄 국립박물관과 학술교류협약을 체결한 바 있으며, 이후 중앙아시아 실크로드 문화에 대한 공동조사와 연구를 같이 해왔다.
이번에 발간한 『카타르토베 -제티수 사카 엘리트 고분군』도서는 양 기관이 협약체결 후 2018년까지 유라시아 고대 유목민의 고분 문화에 대해 공동 조사 성과를 담은 내용으로, 지난해 우리말로 공동 발간한 『카자흐스탄 제티수 지역의 고분 문화』를 재구성하여 러시아어로 출판한 것이다.
카자흐스탄 초기철기 시대 쿠르간의 발굴조사 내용과 다양한 자연과학적인 융·복합 연구성과가 수록됐다. 러시아어로 번역된 만큼 이 책자는 카자흐스탄을 비롯한 중앙아시아 각국의 국립연구기관과 도서관에 배포되어 양국의 공동 연구 성과를 홍보하고, 연구 자료로 활용될 예정이다.
이번 도서 전달행사는 카자흐스탄 누르술탄에 자리한 국립박물관 도서관과 국립문화재연구소 대회의실에서 온라인으로 진행되었으며, 도서는 주카자흐스탄 대한민국대사관에서 전달하였다.
아울러 문화재청 국립문화재연구소는 책임운영기관으로서 카자흐스탄 국립박물관과 코로나19 이후의 시대에 대응한 상호협력 관계를 보다 강화하기 위해 기존 학술교류협약을 5년간 연장하기로 했다. 이를 바탕으로 양 기관은 유라시아 고대문화의 교류양상을 밝히는 조사와 연구를 지속해 나갈 예정이다.

-‘Joint Report on Eurasian Tombs’ to be distributed to Central Asian Research Institutions and Libraries -
On February 25th, the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Cultural Heritage Administration (General Director, Ji Byongmok) delivered the Russian translation of the publication on the joint research within the last 5 years, Katartobe Zhetisu Necropolis of the Saka Elite to A. Muhamediuli, General Director of the National Museum of the Republic Kazakhstan and held an online conference in order to extend the joint research agreement signed in 2016.
On February 25th, the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Cultural Heritage Administration (General Director, Ji Byongmok) delivered the Russian translation of the publication on the joint research within the last 5 years, Katartobe Zhetisu Necropolis of the Saka Elite to A. The NRICH entered into a Joint Academic Research Project with the National Museum of the Republic Kazakhstan in 2016 to inquire into ancient cultural exchanges in Eurasia, and has been conducting investigations and researches on the Central Asian Silk Road unitedly ever since.
The Katartobe Zhetisu Necropolis of the Saka Elite contains the discoveries regarding the tomb cultures of the ancient nomads in Eurasia from the signing of the agreement until 2018. Based on the Ancient Tombs in Zhetisu Kazakhstan, which was co-published in Korean last year, the content was restructured and translated into Russian.
It includes archaeological discoveries of the early iron age Kurgans in Kazakhstan and various interdisciplinary, natural scientific research outcomes. As per Russian translation, distributed to national research institutions and libraries in Central Asian countries including Kazakhstan, this book will promote the joint research outcomes of both nations and serve as basic material for research.
The event was held online, within the library of the National Museum of the Republic Kazakhstan, Nursultan and the main conference room of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, and the actual book was handed over by the Korean Embassy in Kazakhstan.
In addition, the Research institute of Cultural Heritage of the Cultural Heritage Administration, as an executive agency, decided to extend the existing agreement with the National Museum of the Republic Kazakhstan for 5 more years to consolidated the cooperative relationship in the Post-COVID19 period. Both institution will continue the research and studies to shed light on the exchange structure of the Eurasian cultures based on this extension.
