Japan announced it will indefinitely exempt Koreans from needing visas beginning next month.
일본은 다음달부터 일본에 입국하는 한국인의 비자를 무기한 면제한다고 발표했습니다.
Under the measures,Korean travelers visiting Japan for 90 days or less from March 1 for tourist and business purposes will not need a visa.
이번 조치로 3월부터 관광과 상용 목적으로 일본에 입국하는 한국인 여행객들은 비자 없이 90일까지 체류할 수 있게 됩니다.
Korea also announced Korea’s reciprocal measures to Japan’s waiver will allow Japanese travelers to stay in Korea for up to 90 days without a visa.
한국 정부도 상호주의 원칙에 따라 다음달부터 일본인 단기 체류 입국자의 비자면제를 30일에서 90일로 늘리기로 했다고 밝혔습니다.
Both governments hope the visa-waiver program will promote cultural exchange,and help create mutual understanding between the two countries.
이번 비자 면제 조치로 양국은 문화교류를 증진시키고 상호협력이 강화되기를 바라고 있습니다.
According to the Korean Foreign Ministry,nearly 2 million Koreans traveled to Japan last year alone,while roughly 2.4 million Japanese took trips here.
외교통상부에 따르면 작년 일본을 방문한 한국인은 200만여명에 이르고, 반면 한국을 방문한 일본인은 240만명이나 되는 것으로 나타났습니다.
