#1.송도 국제 학교 2008년 개교

Ground breaking for a new international school in Song-do,the center of the Incheon Free Economic Zone,began on March 8th.

인천 자유무역 지구의 중심지에 위치한 송도 국제 학교가 3월 8일 착공식을 갖고 공사에 들어갔습니다.

The New Songdo City International School is expected to accommodate 2100 foreign and Korean students with an annual tuition of 20 million won.

새로운 송도 국제학교는 2100명의 국내외 학생들이 입학하게 되며 연간 학비는 2000만원 정도입니다.

It will be the first international school in Korea’s free economic zones and be scheduled to open its doors in September of 2008.

송도 국제학교는 자유무역지구에 세워지는 최초 국제 학교이며 2008년 9월에 문을 열 예정입니다.

#2.관광객 해마다 증가

Tourists visiting Korea from abroad stayed on average 5.7 nights and spent US$1264 here last year,announced the Korea National Tourism Organization.

한국관광공사에 따르면 작년에 한국을 방문하는 외국인 관광객들은 평균 5.7일을 체류했고 1264달러를 쓰고 간 것으로 나타났습니다.

The vast majority(78.1 percent) visited Seoul,where the most popular destination was Myeongdong with 48.2 percent.

78.1%인 다수 관광객들이 서울에 머물렀으며 그중 48.2%는 명동을 가장 좋아하는 곳으로 꼽았습니다.

The most popular shopping place was duty free shops at the airport,followed by department stores and Dongdaemun Market.

가장 인기 있는 쇼핑장소는 공항 면세점이었으며 백화점과 동대문 시장이 뒤를 이었습니다.

Food and beverages topped the shopping list for 51.6 percent,followed by clothes and - a special category - kimchi .

쇼핑 품목으로는 음식과 음료가 51.6%로 가장 높았으며 다음으로는 의류와 김치가 차지했습니다.
