#1. 혼혈인 군대 입대 가능

Koreans with a mixed heritage born later than 1987 are allowed to enter the military for the first time this year.

1987년 이후 출생 혼혈인들도 올해부터 처음으로 군대에 입대할 수 있게 됩니다.

In accordance with the law,the volunteers would become active service members or perform alternative duties to benefit the country.

혼혈인들은 개정된 병역법 시행령에 따라 본인이 원할 경우 현역사병이나 공익 근무 요원으로 복무할 수 있습니다.

Until now,Military Manpower Administration believed the mixed-bred people would not successfully adapt themselves live in the barracks due to their differences in appearance and skin. 지금까지 국방부는 겉모습과 피부색이 다른 혼혈인의 군대 적응 여부를 우려해 제2 국민역으로 판정했었습니다.

But MMA decided to remove the restriction out of concerns that this prejudiced assumption could lead to another.

그러나 이번에 더 많은 차별을 낳을 이번 규제를 없애기로 했습니다.

#2. 집안일 도우미 로봇 등장

Robots that can perform house chores such as cleaning, reading books and teaching beginner-level English to children will be available to the public starting October.

청소하거나 아이들에게 책 읽어 주기, 기초 영어 가르쳐 주기 등의 기능을 가진 집안일 도우미 로봇이 10월부터 시판될 것으로 보입니다.

The robots will cost about one million won each.

로봇의 가격은 대당 100만원선이 될 예정입니다.

In March and July prototypes will be made and 650 household with broadband network will be selected and will be supplied the robots.

정통부는 우선 3월과 7월 각각 시제품을 내놓고, 초고속 인터넷 네트워크가 설치된 650가구를 선정해 배포할 예정입니다.
