국가유산청(청장 허민)은 7월 28일(월)부터 8월 17일(일)까지 3주에 걸쳐 중·고등학생 및 대학생을 대상으로 생성형 인공 지능(AI)에 노출된 국가유산 관련 오류를 찾아 시정하고 정확한 내용으로 학습시키는 「국가유산 AI 학습 챌린지 캠페인」(이하 '캠페인')을 진행한다.
* 생성형 인공 지능(AI): 챗지피티(ChatGPT), 딥시크(DeepSeek) 등 입력한 데이터의 구조와 특성을 모방하여 글, 소리, 그림, 영상, 그 밖의 다양한 결과물을 생성하는 인공지능시스템
* AI 오류 예시: (질문) "훈민정음은 누가 만들었어?" (AI 오류 답변) "세조가 백성들을 위해 만든 문자로, 중국에서 가져온 문자체계를 바탕으로 만들었습니다"
올해 처음 선보이는 이번 캠페인은 생성형 인공 지능(AI)에서 국가유산 관련 정보 검색 시 역사적 사실이 왜곡된 정보나 편향된 서술 위주의 정보, 또는 실제 국가유산의 모습과 다른 이미지가 검색되는 등과 같이 지속적으로 지적되어 온 사례들에 대한 문제의식에서 시작되었다.
이번 캠페인은 국가유산에 관심 있는 중·고등학생과 대학생이라면 누구나 정보 무늬(QR코드)를 통해 참여할 수 있다.
국가유산청은 캠페인을 통해 생성형 AI에서 나타나는 왜곡된 국가유산 정보를 시정해 국가유산에 대한 사회 저변의 관심을 제고하고, 생성형 AI에서 접하는 국가유산 정보의 무비판적 수용에도 주의를 촉구하는 분위기를 만들고자 한다.
응모 방법은 생성형 인공 지능(AI)의 응답을 통해 확인된 국가유산 정보 오류와 자신이 수정 학습시킨 정보, 이를 통해 정정된 새 응답 내용 등을 갈무리(캡처)해 자신의 사회관계망서비스(SNS)에 게재한 뒤 응모 주소(https://naver.me/FjCTTjf2)에 접속해 양식에 맞춰 접수하면 된다. 활동우수자를 선발하여 소정의 상품도 증정할 계획이다.
국가유산청은 앞으로도 우리 국가유산에 대한 올바른 정보가 생성형 AI에 공유되어 전 세계에 우리 국가유산의 가치를 확산하고 문화교류 활성화에 기여할 수 있도록 적극행정을 이어갈 것이다.
The Korea Heritage Service (Administrator: Huh Min; KHS) will run a three-week campaign from Monday, July 28 to Sunday, August 17, engaging middle school, high school, and university students in identifying inaccuracies in national heritage-related content exposed through generative AI* and retraining the AI with correct information.
*Generative AI: Artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek that generate text, sound, images, video, and other outputs by mimicking the structure and patterns of input data

Launched for the first time this year, the campaign was prompted by a heightened awareness of ongoing problems in generative AI search results for national heritage topics—including distorted historical facts, biased descriptions, and visual outputs that misrepresent the appearance of actual heritage sites or artifacts.
The campaign is open to all secondary and post-secondary students with an interest in national heritage and can be accessed by scanning the QR code provided. Through this campaign, the Korea Heritage Service seeks to correct distorted national heritage information found in generative AI and foster greater public interest—while also raising awareness of the risks of uncritically accepting such AI-generated content.
To participate, students must capture a screenshot showing an AI-generated error about national heritage, the correct information they used to retrain the AI, and the updated response. This should be posted on their personal social media account, after which they can submit an entry using the designated form (https://naver.me/FjCTTjf2). Selected participants will receive small prizes for outstanding submissions.
The KHS will continue its active administration to ensure accurate information about Korea's national heritage is shared through generative AI, helping to expand global awareness and promote international cultural exchange.
