국가유산청 한국전통문화대학교(총장 강경환)는 10월 25일부터 11월 22일까지 5주간 매주 토요일 한국전통문화대학교 서울교육관(명동 유네스코 회관) 등에서 주한 외국인 대상 「2025 K-헤리티지 리더십 프로그램(K-Heritage Leadership Program)」을 개최한다.
이번 프로그램은 한국전통문화대학교가 국가유산을 체계적으로 경험해 볼 기회가 많지 않은 외국인들을 대상으로 2023년도부터 운영해 온 국가유산 교육 과정인 「K-헤리티지 아카데미」의 일환으로, 문화, 교육, 외교, 국제교류, 미디어, 산업, 환경 등 다양한 분야에서 활동하는 실무자급 주한 외국인들을 대상으로 지난해 10월 처음 개최되어 참가자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다.
'한국의 무형유산'을 주제로 진행되는 올해 프로그램의 참가자들은 한국전통문화대학교 교수와 국가무형유산 보유자·이수자 등으로 구성된 강사진에게 종묘제례, 전통 갓, 괘불 등 지류 회화의 복원, 전통 매듭 기술 등에 대한 강연을 듣고, 전통 갓과 매듭 제작, 탈춤 체험, 괘불 복원 관람 등에 참가하게 된다.
국가유산청 한국전통문화대학교는 앞으로도 「K-헤리티지 아카데미」의 성공적인 운영을 통해 한국의 문화와 국가유산에 대한 세계인의 공감과 이해를 높이고, 이를 바탕으로 한국의 문화외교 역량과 교류 기반 확대에도 기여할 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것이다.
K-Heritage International Center at the Korea National University of Heritage (KNUH, President Kang Gyeong-hwan) under the Korea Heritage Service will host the 2025 K-Heritage Leadership Program, a five-week educational and cultural experience designed for global leaders residing in Korea. The program will take place every Saturday from October 25 to November 22, 2025, at the University's Seoul Education Center (Myeong-dong UNESCO Hall) and other locations.
The K-Heritage Leadership Program is part of the K-Heritage Academy, a cultural heritage education initiative operated by KNUH since 2023. The Academy offers international participants from diverse professional, academic, and educational backgrounds a structured opportunity to explore and experience Korea's cultural heritage.
Launched in October 2024, the Leadership Program received enthusiastic feedback for offering participants a unique opportunity to discover the depth and beauty of Korea's heritage.
The 2025 program will feature an expanded curriculum of lectures, workshops, and field experiences. Highlights of the 2025 program include:
● An Introduction to Korea's Intangible Cultural Heritage & Mask Dance Workshop
● Exploration of Jongmyo Shrine and Royal Ancestral Rituals
● Hands-On Experience in Traditional Gat (hat) Making
● Insights into the Restoration of Buddhist Scroll Paintings and Other Paper-Based Artworks
● Workshops on Traditional Korean Decorative Knotting Techniques
The program is open to international professionals in Korea working across diverse fields such as cultural diplomacy and education. The program aims not only to strengthen participants' individual cultural awareness but also to enhance Korea's capacity for cultural diplomacy and broaden opportunities for global exchange.
KNUH, under the Korea Heritage Service, will continue its commitment to the success of the 'K-Heritage Academy'. We will spare no effort to enhance global appreciation and understanding of Korea's culture and National Heritage, thereby strengthening Korea's capacity for cultural diplomacy and broadening the foundation for global exchange.
